We began this process back in November, and planned to have Aidynn enrolled by February 18 so that I could return to work. I cannot even count the number of phone calls I have made or times I had to force myself to fake a smile and say "Thank you for your time, I will get back to you if we are interested." when I really wanted to run screaming for the door. After 3 of these types of interviews I stopped taking Aiydnn with me.
Yesterday I resigned to the idea that I would enroll Aidynn in a private preschool and pay the $250 a week.
Checking my email this morning I got an email from my friend Teri with a phone number for a daycare with a lot of references from friends of hers - parents of her kids friends who have used her for care in the past. She didn't know if she cared for infants however.
I figured what the heck. What's one more phone call?
She has been providing childcare for 17 years, does full time, part time, overnight, lives 4 blocks away from me (in the direction I drive to work), does care for infants, and has a position opening up MONDAY! The day I need care to begin. She was just awesome to talk to. You know how you meet those people you just 'click' with? She was like that!
Those of you who know me well know that I am not a very 'clickable' person.
I have a hectic day tomorrow (First Dr appointment and getting everything ready to go back to work) so she was able to fit me in for an interview this afternoon!
Another bonus? $135 a week. WOW! That will save me $460 a month!
No wonder this woman is raved about! She is friendly, experienced, and her rates are awesome!
I love moments like these when timing is everything and it all just seems to work out perfectly. Gotta love karma! One more to add to the list today as I count my blessings.
