Missed Opportunity

So, as most of you know, I have loved and played with my Canon Rebel XSi since mother's day when Hubs bought it for me. All but for the last 3 months of course. I haven't had the time, or the energy to invest in it. I found myself missing photo ops of my kids and important memories because my camera wasn't travel sized and it was always a struggle taking it in and out of it's case while juggling a 2 and a 1 year old.

I sold it.

Yep. I did. It was a difficult choice to make, but in the end I think it turned out to be the right decision for me. The way I saw it, by the time my kiddos were old enough to allow me the time and energy (not to mention moola for lenses!) I need to practice the camera would be outdated and I would want to replace it anyhow.

I sold it to a very nice lady who was just starting out, and it was her first DSLR. She got it for a steal of a price, but I don't mind as I know that the camera I held so dear was going to a good and loving home where it would be used the way it was meant to.

So what I did was take a step down to a Canon Powershot G11 - with the functionality of a manual SLR I can still practice and take excellent photos, but it's a hand held and has automatic features even the XSi didn't.

I had a blog set up to do a 365 Photo blog for 2010, I really have not kept up with life in photos over the last 8 months or so, but I deleted it. I decided to still continue with a photo blog, but in my own time and at my own pace, so it will not be a 365.

I have much more important things to do than worry about deadlines. I've got babies to take care of, and after all not missing any more memories is the point isn't it? ;)
