Hugs & Kisses

My life is so exciting to me. At night before I fall asleep, as I am thinking about the events of the day that has just passed by, I can see so much that I am grateful for in my life. So far, after 28 years of experience, I have found that the only true happiness is in the true love of family and friends.

Last night I got home from work and Duane left for the grocery store. Miss Aidynn was in her jumper, and INSISTED that I look at her and talk to her as she very happily jumped up and down laughing and gurgling. If I turned away from her to pay attention to something else, she would fuss and grimace until I turned back around to face her... and then she would laugh again as if to say "There! See?! Look Mommy! Watch me bounce!"

While waiting for Daddy to get back from the store, we bounced for a while, danced for a while, read 3 books (2 of them twice), and sang songs. She is such a happy baby. Every morning she wakes up with a huge smile on her face - no wonder I am in such a good mood most of the time! Who wouldn't be, waking up to the grins and sparkling eyes of my beautiful baby girl?

At the beginning of our 3rd round of Little Lion (ROAR!) trying to find his Daddy - I do one hell of a voice for the giraffe if I do say so myself - Duane knocked on the door, his arms laden with groceries carried upstairs all by himself.... and two bouquets of Autumn colored daisies.

No purpose. No special occasion. Simply because he loves me and he knows I like flowers.

"I don't think these will make me sick." he said. Last time he bought me beautiful lilies even though he knew they would make him ill just because they are my favorite flower.

He put away the groceries and made dinner while I fed Aidynn her newest gourmet favorite - sweet potatoes; warm and mushed please. Mmmm... tasty!

Perfect random hugs and kisses.

My days are filled with these whenever Duane and I are together. A few months from now will mark 2 years that I have been with the love of my life and he still can make me tingle with a touch, lightheaded with a kiss, and last night I actually got butterflies like I did when we first started dating! I didn't even recognize the feeling at first. As I watched him prepare our daughter a bottle and carry her to the couch giving her hugs and kisses on the way, I felt my heart skip a beat and ... well it's indescribable. How did I get so lucky? When he walks up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist and kisses the back of my neck.... it doesn't matter where we are - it's the only place in the world I want to be. He is my match, and when I think back on all of the years we have known each other.... I'm surprised it took us so long to see it... not that he didn't try back in the day, so I have to give him points for that. We understand each other and our values are complimentary - not to mention he's the sexiest man alive!

Last week, Aidynn learned how to give hugs! She puts her arms around your neck and squeezes while resting her head on your shoulder. This morning, I was kissing her goodbye before I left for work, and realized she was making kissy faces back! She pursed her little lips together and sucked her bottom lip slightly as she stared at me intently waiting - and she repeated this quite a few times so Daddy got to see. She still opens her mouth to try and eat your face when you get close enough, but my 5 month old gives hugs and kisses! It's so darn adorable to see her developing the ability to express her emotions, particularly love and affection.

I wonder where she could have learned how to do that?
