So far so good.
He lost 40+ pounds or so a few months back, and after a little bit of it crept back he wants to continue what he started. I still have a residual 15 pounds left over from my pregnancy and wanted to lose at least 20 before that - I've put it off for one excuse or another since Aidynn was born. So I have my goal weight set, and should be able to meet it before our tentatively set wedding date (Jan 1) and before Duane leaves for basic training and AIT.
Yes, basic training. He enlisted in the Army Reserves. You read that right. He leaves the beginning of January and will be back the end of June. He is going to North Carolina. I haven't blogged about it before now, because we were wary of the complications that hex would try to bring forward to see what she could extort from the situation. Beings as it is so close now, there is little that she can do to cause drama.
It's a long time to be without him, and I would be lying if I didn't admit that I am afraid of being without him for so long. Aidynn and I rely on him for so much. He is my best friend. What will I do without him? I don't know too many people in Sac, and my family is all in Redding. It will be just Aidynn and I every day. For now I try not to think about him leaving.... but in the back of my mind there is a constant countdown. I just tell myself that he is doing what is best for our family. He is setting the stage to give our family the best he can - and more. I truly love him for that.
So, back to the weight loss. I figured if I blogged it, it would be more of an incentive for me to stick with it! Along with Duane and I having each other as a support system, I think I will do just fine.
Wish us luck and healthy eating!
