I haven't been able to sit down and blog recently for more than a few minutes. Usually I do my blogging at work, and this week Tony has been on vacation. (He won't be back until the 29th.) Also, and I won't bore you with this information for too long) the cost of lead has nearly quadrupled over the last year. Thus, the cost of batteries has been climbing higher and higher. We have had to increase and adjust pricing so many times... wait... we? No, that would be I.
I have been calculating pricing, creating item locations, and trying to input about 5,000 new prices into the system over the last week. One of the busiest weeks we have ever had - and we were one person short in the office.
Friday was tragic. It was so bad, that I started yelling. I was ready to FIRE someone - and I probably would have if that someone had fessed up to doing it. I won't go into why, but let's just say that someone didn't do their job properly, was flat out lazy, and it reflected poorly on me. Sometimes it's like working with mis-behaved children again. If something goes wrong and you ask "Who did this." all you hear is "Not me. Not me. Not me." We had 2 drivers run over batteries with the forklift, discovered that some batteries that had been turned in for core recycling were brand new 100$ batteries - but stolen, and one of the drivers put unleaded fuel into the diesel truck, among various other things that made me want to scream. So... yeah. Fun day. Since priceing was supposed to be done on Wednesday... and it wasn't done Friday at 4:00pm, yours truly was pulling some OT. Along with Andrew who had some government contracts to finish up.
At 4:30 Andrew went and bought us a 12 pack of Newcastle... right before he proceeded to keep the drivers after work to talk to them. Pretty much he told them to go home over the weekend and get their shit together and one of them would be fired by the time Tony got back. I sat back and drank my beer and did some ever fun data entry. In the peace.. and quiet...
So that's work.
At home, Duane and I are still trying to figure out how to catch up on some bills that fell behind when I went on maternity leave. It's added some stress to our daily living, but we will figure something out I am sure. Things always have a way of working out for us.
Aidynn is happy and healthy baby-talkng up a storm! She has outgrown almost all of her first wardrobe and is now in 3-6 month clothes! It's so crazy. I had to have Duane go through her closet and box up everything that no longer fits her... I couldn't do it. I didn't want to put anything in the box when I tried! I cleaned out her dresser, where it is mostly pants, and I found her hospital dress..... the one she wore after she was first born. I showed Duane and started to get teary eyed because she was so tiny! Then I said something about having another baby.
We went shopping for some new clothes for her, and found some of the most adorable dresses at Kohls. We also got her some new onsies, jammies, and I got her another cute dress yesterday (I couldn't help it! lol) So her wardrobe is not reconstructed.... at least for another 2 months or so.
My sister is coming down for my birthday in 10 days! I am still very excited about that. Even when I saw her in June there wasn't a lot of time that we got to spend together. They weren't able to stay for too long, and I was 39 weeks pregnant... that put a damper on everything - including movement. She wants to go out - I'm not big on the club and bar stuff. I feel a bit too old for that. It's one thing to get together a small group of friends and go sing kareoke at some po-dunk bar in Bella Vista (LOL - 10 rounds of Jose Quervo!), or sit at a table catching up with an old friend in a quiet atmosphere, but meat market- loud music clubs and hoochie-buffet bars just don't appeal to me.
Next weekend I have a 3 day weekend. I am going to Redding for my nieces birthday (yep, another neice is turning 1!) and I have court to resolve the stupid divorce issues. We both filed divorce papers, I filed mine in November, he filed his in January, and for some reason no one at the court house could figure out exactly how to handle that situation. I say, obviously, neither of us wanted to be married to each other... so perhaps we should just leave it at that. But he also had to file some stupid paper that says he wants me to pay half of his student loans. HAHA! KISS MY ASS! Hopefully the last time I will ever have to deal with my ex. I am hoping that my papers will be considered filed and processed as of the 2nd of November and I will "officially" be divorced. Then I can come home and really have something to celebrate for my birthday!
Life is good.
My Duane just made me an awesome breakfast so I think I will go eat it with him.
