Happily Ever Afters

So....

Today was hectic at work. We are so busy and we really could use some new drivers in the warehouse. Really. It was so busy in fact that my boss and I didn't have the chance to talk until after 5.

I am so tired, but I am so happy. I got the raise. I can't believe he gave me a $3.50 raise! He said that if he could he would pay me more because I definitely deserved it, and when he could he would. In the meantime he offered me a lot of overtime for the next few weeks to help us catch up on a few bills due to my maternity leave. My boss is awesome. He said so many nice things to me, and let me know he would work with me however he could. He even offered to transfer me to Redding so that I could be closer to my family. He has no problems with me taking breaks for breastfeeding and is totally cool with me taking time off work to be at her doctors appointments with her.

So, now I don't have to leave my job that I love, and we don't have to move to Washington and start over. I am so happy, relieved, and just a little bit disappointed at the same time. I still miss my sister.

I am actually quite proud of myself... because even though my boss is rad and gave me the raise that I needed so Duane can stay home with Aidynn, I earned it by working hard and demonstrating an excellent work ethic. I can't lie, my work ethic used to suck. I would be late and have no qualms about calling in sick even if I wasn't. I have been with my job since August 19, 2006 and outside of doctors appointments when I was pregnant I have missed 1 day.

Yep, only 1 day.

I love my job. I am good at what I do and I am needed there and appreciated. I am so glad that I don't have to leave it. I do think Duane and I will still be moving into another apartment - or maybe a house, depending on the custody situation with the boys. Neither of us like it here, and I don't want to raise my daughter in this place. Too many crazy things happen in this complex. Such as the stolen budget truck that totaled the car parked next to mine on Monday.

I have so much more to blog about - Aidynn updates, Valens visit with us so far, Duane as Mr.Mom, Chase's upcoming trip to Grammas (or possibly uncle Davids'), stupid Joey Tucker *grr*, and lots more.... but I am so tired, and I have a baby to feed and bottles to wash so I can make her more food at work tomorrow.

Once again I am counting my blessings. Every time some kind of obstacle or difficulty comes up in our lives, Duane and I always come out of it loving each other and in a better place than we were before it began.
