Kinny didn't nurse today. At all. Not last night, not this morning, not at bedtime. It was the first day since she was born that she didn't nurse even once. She has been cutting back, and eating solid food like a horse, but still nursing at least once during the night for comfort and closeness.
I can't say that I wasn't looking forward to this day, because I am somewhat happy to have that part of my body back; at least for a little while before Corbin arrives. I can admit though that I am a bit sad over it. She has been breastfed since the first 3 minutes of her life!
It means she's not my little baby anymore and she is growing up. It's a first step of independence from Mommy - which I know is a good thing - but why does it have to feel like I just lost something?
