Since she will be 2 months old tomorrow, (Time is FLYING!) I thought now would be a good time to write an update for all of our friends and family. (That and she is taking a nap and I have a free minute or 5.
)Miss Aidynn Grace is a beautiful baby girl! She now weighs in at almost 13 pounds! She is 23 inches long. Her eyes are still changing into the most gorgeous shade of blue... like her Daddy's... and occasionally will go a bit more grey. Her hair is getting a bit lighter, with a little red in it, and it's getting a bit long in the back! I think we may have a case of "baby mullet" going here soon.
She has a smile that she does that just lights up her eyes in a way that screams "I am SO HAPPY!" and it melts my heart. She is smiling all the time now. She loves to hear the letter "s" sound and whispers. Especially whispers of Mommy and Daddy telling her how beautiful and sweet she is.
When I get home from work I can't wait to see her big gummy grin as soon as she sees me. I can tell she wants to laugh sometimes, but not there yet - we are still at smiles and squeals. We could tell she misses her brothers. After they left she seemed uneasy that it was so quiet.
She is spending a lot of time during the day awake now - and she is still sleeping almost all night. She still wakes up once - as always - to eat between 2 am and 4 am. The other day she actually slept all through the night! I woke up paranoid at 3:45 from a dead sleep to check on her and make sure she was alright! Of course she was fine.
Her first 8 hour night! I would have been more excited if I hadn't tossed and turned for the next 3 hours wondering if I should wake her.
I am still working 40+ hours a week, and D is staying home with her. It is working out very well for us. I lovethat they can spend so much time together, and I am so happy she doesn't have to go into daycare. Duane is such a wonderful Daddy. He has been practicing sign language with her (trying to focus on Daddy of course!
No fair!), talking to her a lot, and reading to her. When Valen was here he read to her more often - it was so good for both of them. Hopefully that is something we can continue. When she is not curiously looking around - she LOVES to gab! She will gurgle a coo at you for what seems like forever if she knows she has captured your attention. She also loves the sound of running water! It plays in her boppy bouncer, Daddy runs it in the kitchen sink (cause Mommy hates doing dishes... what a nice Daddy!

), and then of course there's bathtime! Which she still adores. She seems to relax as soon as she gets into that water. It is so sweet to see her kick her legs, gurgle, and smile. OH! And then there's the new fascination - blowing spit bubbles!
It's a sign of teething....
! Already!?!? She will blow lots of bubbles and then pop them all with her tongue and start over. So cute! She also still mimics mouth movements - not just the tongue anymore! She puckers and opens wide too!Duane takes such good care of her. They are so attached to each other. I am amazingly in love with how much he loves her. It makes it so much easier on my heart to leave her when I know she is in his arms each day.
*sigh*
I wish you all could see her more. Sometime's it is hard being so far away from you.We love all of you though, and hope to see you soon!
