Lately, I've been thinking about things that have happened in my life. Not all of them are happy, but not all of them are sad. Most of them, I think, are what helped to make me the person that I am today. I feel like I have lived a very full life so far.
I have some big life changes in my very near future, and I think now is a good time for me to reflect on some of the life changes and experiences I have already had and then put them away.
In my life...
I have held each of my 5 siblings' little hands that needed me, and later in life had every one of them return the favor.
I have left my home, and everything I owned, twice, because I knew it was the right thing to do.
I have saved the lives of animals', and I have accidentally ended one animals' life.
I have found my soulmate and my best friend - and almost let him go...
I have been told by a medical professional that I would most likely never have children.
I have been kissed in the rain on a beach.
I have consciously and happily placed the well being and happiness of my family and friends before my own.
I have learned that unhappy people do not like to see other people find happiness.
I have been told "I love you." and felt it.
I have stood in an Army hanger and watched a husband go to war not knowing if it would be the last time I saw him.
I have discovered that the people you care about the most, can cause you the most heartache, even if they don't mean to.
I have held the tiny hands of newborn babies, whose fathers' and mothers' tiny hands I once held the same way.
I have given a dry bath to a spouse who was dying and in a coma.
I have found more love than I ever knew existed by loving myself first - and been shown what it means to be IN love with someone else.
I have felt the kicks, seen the fingers and toes, and heard the heartbeat, of a dream I was told would never come true.
